Like all Mikey’s Chance dogs, this dog will come to you from a foster home that has provided loving one-on-one attention, socialization and some basic training, as well as quality food and exercise.

Born approximately October 2009, Humphrey is a sweet male Terrier mix seeking a home for his golden years. Humphrey is a happy go lucky guy, who gets along great with other dogs and cats, and love to go on walks. Humphrey is affected by a disease called Degenerative Myelopathy: This a progressive disease of the spinal cord, typically found in older dogs. The disease has an onset typically between 8 and 14 years of age. It begins with a loss of coordination (ataxia) in the hind limbs, this causes Humphrey to sometimes wobble when walking, knuckle over or drag his feet. This disease is very similar in nature to multiple sclerosis in humans. It will eventually worsen. This is not painful to Humphrey, however he has a lose of sensation so it is important to keep booties on his feet when walking-in case he ends up dragging them. This is not a curable disease but he does have some good years left and his dream would be to spend them with a loving family.

Please be sure to do research on this disease and consult with your Vet before applying to adopt
